Beautiful and long friendly and literary correspondence, in particular on the Femina prize, of which they were both members from the very beginning. Let us quote the first two letters. Nov. 14, 1905: "I have read Comment s'en vont les reines [by Colette Yver] and I find great qualities in it. I thank and compliment the author. But I also find very good: Aimons par Francois Gilette whose real name I have forgotten and I hesitate between the two authors. But I would find it much preferable after agreement to crown a woman; poor women never have too many votes; and I receive a note from Madame Marny [Jeanne Marni, also a member of the Femina jury] which seems to me to be in the same vein. See you soon, and I am quite willing to unite on a name so as not to disperse the votes. But what was that Colette Yver in Waldeck-Rousseau of bad memory? I don't know what newspaper note said that she had taken him as a model, having every reason for it: which ones?". November 22nd, 1906. "We are a few women poets on the Comité Vie Heureuse; don't you think it would be nice, to gather our votes on a poet this year; they still want to give us a laureate, do you want us to try to have a laureate, since the Prix Goncourt is never awarded to them. We have three names ready, Miss Corthis [who will eventually win the prize], Mr. Bach Lisley, Mr. Ch. Normand. In my opinion, I am putting them in order of talent, but in order for one of the three to be favoured, I will gladly give my voice. You are more influential, more active than me, dear lady [...]. If I see a few colleagues, I intend to do the same [...]. If prose were to triumph, however, I would fight for Judith Cladel whose book is beautiful and whose situation is so interesting, a large family of artists with few resources",
