MILLET, Jean-François (1814-1875), peintre français. - Lot 77
MILLET, Jean-François (1814-1875), peintre français. L.A.S., in Moureaux. Barbizon, April 14, 1866. 1 p. in-8. A few halos. "You will soon have your drawing, just have a little more patience. I met Daumier on my last trip to Paris. As I cannot attend the lunch that is offered to you, I come to tell you that I will be in imagination near you. I'll give you a good handshake [...]". Honoré Daumier (1808-1879) became friends with the painters of the Barbizon school (Camille Corot, Jean-François Millet and Théodore Rousseau) in the 1850s. Millet had moved to Barbizon in 1849 in order to get closer to the rural landscapes from which he drew his inspiration.
