Set of 2 documents: - L.A.S., [to Élie Faure]. Montigny-sur-Loing, [1930]. 1 p. in-4. Nice letter from the filmmaker who was then in the middle of preparing his film The End of the World. "[...] What you have added to your preface fills me with comfort. The door of the book opens better. I'm swimming in the impossible realizations of The End of the World. I have a clever little god in me who guides me each time through the labyrinth of the centaurs & who leaves me there alone. Where is the day? - and what is this imperious need that compels me to transform a simple rainfall into a typhoon? ... But I will see you in Paris as soon as I return so that you can judge the state of my star sickness [...]". Élie Faure had written the preface to Prisme, a major work by Abel Gance published in 1930. The End of the World was published in 1931. It will be his first talking film. - L.A.S. 17 February 1966. 1 p. in-4. "[...] Enclosed 2.000 - for Dec. and January. - I have not yet released the sums due to me - and will pay you February as soon as I have arrived at this result that 4 taxes complicate me. But don't worry [...]".
