L.A.S. "JBenigne E de Meaux", to Reverend Father René Rapin of the "Society of Jesus". Meaux, August 3, 1687. 2 pp. in-8. Address on the back and fragment of red wax. Interesting letter on the praise of the Grand Condé. "I had my Reverend Father thank you from the Magnanimous when your letter came to oblige me to thank you again by the honesty it contains. There will be in the eulogy of the late Mr. Prince to satisfy the delicacy of your readers and in particular all those of his son. It will not be difficult for me to say much good of a work for which I have the highest possible esteem. I will be very obliged to you to give my very humble thanks to Mr. and Mrs. d'entregue [...]" The Funeral Oration of very high and very powerful Prince Louis de Bourbon, Prince de Condé, the first prince of blood, is a eulogy in memory of Louis II de Bourbon-Condé (1621-1686) pronounced by Bossuet on March 2, 1687 in the cathedral of Notre-Dame de Paris.
