Durand. 1747. 1 volume petit in-8, speckled calf, decorated nimbus spine, red title coin, rubbed caps. First edition, illustrated with a beautiful frontispiece engraved by Fessard after Durand. Dortous de Mairan, physicist and mathematician, was an important figure of the Académie des Sciences of which he was perpetual secretary. The book contains the eulogies with biographical and bibliographical details of the members of the Académie des Sciences. Tiny freckles.
