Nervous stems support the alternating shelves, while open flowers crown the isolated supports, garnish the corners between the shelves and the base, or form the most delicate openwork crown. A marquetry decoration enriches the backgrounds of the furniture with a series of very harmonious paintings". Lucien Magne, Le mobilier moderne à l'Exposition de 1900, Revue des Arts Décoratifs, January 1901.
