Chagrin rouge, beautiful ornamental gilt plate on the plates, decorated with volutes and garlands of flowers with an oval recess in the center, smooth spine decorated with a beautiful rocaille iron decorated with volutes of acanthus leaves edged with flowers, gilt edges (Boutigny). Beautiful edition illustrated by Tony Johannot and Jacque, including in the first print more than 160 vignettes in the text and 12 plates on china appliqué, woodcut by Brevière, Nicholls, Bastin, Dujardin, etc...Provenance Paul Gavault (ex-libris).
