LOGOVARDA was born in Le Locle, Switzerland.

A self-taught painter, he opened his first studio in 1967. In 1976, he moved to Paros in the Cyclades.

Since 1982, he has lived and worked in La Ferrière (Switzerland).

He has held numerous exhibitions in Switzerland (Lausanne, Neuchâtel, Fribourg, La chaux de fond.) and Europe (Barcelona and, for the past 4 years, Montmartre and Brittany in France).

His works are regularly auctioned at Drouot.

Classifying LOGOVARDA is complex, but above all pointless. Art brut? Singular art? Undoubtedly, but highly reductive. Expressionist. Yes, but beyond that. LOGOVARDA's work is immediately striking for its visceral desire to seek out, understand and stage this scriptural perception of our human nature. This totally labyrinthine work is the very meaning of Desire. Desire to cross the layers of our gaze, of our ability to cross the River. We must become ferrymen with him, following Ariadne's thread, even if it means getting lost.

LOGOVARDA's work is impressive, in the physical, almost anatomical sense of the word, as much for the strength of his "writing" as for his offbeat, humorous way of staging these disjointed, stretched characters, veritable puppets whose lives are at stake. Yes, the artist's often painful labyrinths plunge us into the force of myth, immersing us in it. There's a powerful form of expressionism here that draws on Man's ancient narratives and carries us away.
