In-4 full brown calf, spine with five gilt rings, traces of wear and rubbing. Amsterdam, with the widow Jacob Van Meurs, 1681. First edition of the French translation of the account of the three voyages of the Dutch explorer Jan Janszoon STRUYS between 1647 and 1672, first to the Cape Verde Islands, Madagascar and Japan, then Venice, and finally Russia, Dagestan and Persia. Complete with the title-frontispices before each of the stories. The first one complete with 20 folding plates including one map, two of them have a tear on the fold, without missing. The second story complete with 8 engravings in-text. Handwritten word on the first and last page of the book, traces of wetness at the head without harming the text, occasional stains otherwise fresh interior overall.
